Nothing quite compares to a good ole homecooked meal but sometimes life gets busy. That’s where fast-food comes in! Fast-food chains have given us the opportunity to fill our bellies when we’re on the go so we can satisfy the hunger without being inconvenienced to prepare food. It’s easy to fall into temptation as a keto dieter because the most common fast-food options include burgers, fries sandwiches, as well as many other carb-heavy foods. To help you fight that temptation and keep you satisfied we have compiled ways for you to order keto-approved fast food at your favorite restaurants!

1. McDonald’s

The next time you want to start your morning with breakfast from McDonald’s, simply order a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit but be sure to ask for no biscuit! This breakfast will come in around 4 grams of net carbs, 14 grams of protein and 13 grams of fat. Don’t forget you can always order black coffee to go with your morning breakfast and consider bringing your own keto-approved sweetener.

When you need to head to McDonald’s for a quick dinner, order a Big Mac with no bun, no ketchup, and no Big Mac Sauce and of course, skip the fries! This meal will cost you about 5 grams of net carbs, 18 grams of protein, and 25 grams of fat. If you have enough macros left for the day, go ahead and add the Big Mac Sauce as it only adds about 1 net carb to the meal. To wash down your meal, stick to water, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero.

2. Wendy’s

Perhaps you’re craving a Baconator instead of Big Mac, in that case, head to Wendy’s and order keto with ease! Start by ordering a Son of Baconator but ask for no bun and no ketchup. Don’t forget Wendy’s will allow you to order a lettuce wrap instead of a bun so you can bite into that delicious, juicy burger without a fork! This meal contains about 4 grams of net carbs, 29 grams of protein, and 37 grams of fat.

If the burger isn’t filling enough you can order a side of caesar salad just be sure to skip the croutons. You could also skip the burger all together and order a caesar salad for lunch or dinner which contains about 5 grams of net carbs, 9 grams of protein and 14 grams of fat. And finally, when you’re craving breakfast at Wendy’s order a Breakfast Baconator with no bun. This meal contains about 5 grams of net carbs, 50 grams of fat, and 31 grams of protein.

3. Chipotle

Chipotle is thriving with an abundance of keto-friendly options. Many of the ingredients used in the restaurant are clean making it easy to build a keto meal. Just be sure to skip the burritos, tacos, and even the burrito bowls as these are loaded with carbs.

A delicious Salad Bowl at Chipotle will get you lettuce, chicken, tomatillo red salsa, cheese, and guacamole. This meal contains about 16 grams of net carbs, 37 grams of fat and 41 grams of protein. You can always get creative and create any combo you enjoy, just be sure to calculate the macros on your own!

4. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)

They don’t call KFC’s fried chicken “finger-lickin’ good” for nothing. It really is that good, however, the fries, gravy, and breaded chicken is unfortunately full of carbs and one cheat meal will definitely kick you out of ketosis. But when you do find yourself craving some delicious KFC, play it safe and stick to the grilled chicken options.

Consider ordering a 2-piece White Chicken Combo that comes will grilled chicken and beans on the side. This meal contains about 2 grams of net carbs, 10 grams of fat, and 47 grams of protein. Alternatively, you could also order a Kentucky Grilled Bucket with green beans on the side to feed the whole family. This meal comes in at about 4 grams of net carbs per serving. If you really want dipping sauce to pair with the chicken, be sure to stick to Buttermilk Ranch and Creamy Buffalo as these are the best low-carb options.

5. Subway

When you think about Subway those delicious sandwiches obviously come to mind but all that bread will surely kick you out of ketosis. Thankfully, you can adapt almost any sandwich into a keto-friendly meal by turning it into a salad. It’s worth noting, be sure to skip toppings that are covered in thick sauces such as teriyaki or marinara as they are also full of carbs.

A great keto option would be the Chicken Bacon Ranch Chopped Salad. This meal contains about 9 grams of net carbs, 22 grams of protein, and 17 grams of fat. If you want to add more fat to your meal consider adding more cheese or guacamole. Also, be wary of Subway’s chili and creamy soups as they’re full of carbs too!

6. Dunkin’

Dunkin’ is famous for coffee, donuts, and delicious on-the-go breakfast options. If you can’t live without your beloved Dunkin’ treats while following the keto diet we’ve got you covered! A great breakfast option would be to order a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich. Just be sure to skip the muffin. This breakfast contains about 32 grams of fat, 3 grams of net carbs, and 16 grams of protein.

Don’t forget the coffee! Order yourself a hot coffee with cream or iced coffee with cream. Keep in mind a medium hot coffee with cream contains about 3 grams of net carbs and iced coffee with cream contains about 4 grams of carbs. If you don’t have enough macros to enjoy cream in your coffee, you can always order your coffee black!

7. Panera Bread

Okay, we know this restaurant is called Panera Bread but it too can be keto-fied! Head to a Panera Bread near you and order a Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich with ease. Just be sure to skip the bread. This breakfast will cost you about 2 grams of net carbs, 21 grams of protein, and 28 grams of fat.

You could also enjoy a Steak and Egg Sandwich but once again, skip the bread! This meal contains about 28 grams of fat, 1 gram of net carbs, and 35 grams of protein. Finally, you can also always order a salad. A great option would be Greek Salad and at Panera Bread, you won’t have to ask for any substitutions or ingredient reductions. The Greek Salad contains about 11 grams of net carbs, 36 grams of fat, and 6 grams of protein.

8. IHOP

Unfortunately, you won’t be indulging in the iconci IHOP pancakes but there is a long list of other delicious items you can choose from. Firstly, you can order eggs any way you like them as they contain only 1 gram of net carbs. Enjoy them fried, scrambled, poached, hard or soft boiled — your choice!

Secondly, feel free to indulge in bacon and sausage. Two strips of bacon contain about 1 gram of net carbs, 7 grams of protein and 6 grams of fat. Whereas two sausage links contain about 1 gram of net carbs, 6 grams of protein and 17 grams of fat. It’s also worth noting that IHOP omelets contain added sugar so it’s better to order the eggs and your favorite omelet mix-ins on the side.

9. Arby’s

If you’re thinking Arby’s be sure to order yourself a half-pound Beef ‘N Cheddar but be sure to ask for no bun and no Red Ranch Sauce. This meal contains about 30 grams of fat, 42 grams of protein and 6 grams of carbs. Or you can order the half-pound Fire-Roasted Philly Roast Beef and again ask for no bun. This meal contains 34 grams of fat, 27 grams of protein and 5 grams of carbs.

To complete your meal always skip the fries and instead, ask for a chopped salad with no dressing. If you really need dressing you can order a side of Buttermilk Ranch Dressing or Light Italian Dressing as both options contain just 2 grams of net carbs.

10. Taco Bell

The next time you’re craving tacos, head to Taco Bell but be sure to stay clear of tortillas. Instead, order a Mini Skillet Bowl and request to add beef, guacamole, and creamy chipotle sauce and ask for no potatoes. This meal contains just 6 grams of net carbs, 14 grams of protein and 46 grams of fat.

Alternatively, you could also order a Power Menu Bowl but ask for no rice or beans. Instead, request to add lettuce and bacon. This meal contains 8 grams of net carbs, 21 grams of protein and 24 grams of fat.

11. Starbucks

Starbucks is another hot spot for picking up coffee, baked goods, and quick meals on the go! If you want to try bulletproof coffee at Starbucks, ask your barista to make a Grande Espresso Coffee over ice with heavy whipping cream and 2 pumps of sugar-free dolce syrup.

When you’re feeling hungry Starbucks’ egg bites will be your go-to. You could order their Egg White & Red Pepper bites but be sure to stay clear from the Chicken Chorizo Tortills flavored bites as these include tortilla chips making them far from keto-friendly. 12. In-N-Out

In-N-Out offers several great keto options that you can order! First, you can order a double-double “protein style” which means they’ll wrap the burger in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. You can also choose any burger of your choice and ask for “animal style” which gets you the beef patty, tomato, mustard, pickles, grilled onions, and a lettuce wrap.

The Double-double burger is the most popular and comes with a bun, 2 American cheese slices, fresh or grilled onions, lettuce, sauce, tomatoes, and two beef patties. To make this burger keto-friendly be sure to request no bun and no sauce.

13. Burger King

When you want to get a meal from the king head to Burger King and order a Bacon and Cheese Whopper. As always, be sure to skip the bun! This burger (without the bun) contains 4 grams of net carbs, 18 grams of protein, and 46 grams of fat. You could also order a Bacon King Sandwich (without the bun) and this meal will cost you about 3 grams of net carbs, 75 grams of fat, and 54 grams of protein.

Want to turn that burger into a meal? Instead of fries order a side salad and request Ken’s Ranch Dressing. Unlike other carb-heavy dressings, Ken’s Ranch Dressing contains just 2 grams of net carbs, 28 grams of fat and 1 gram of protein.

14. Panda Express

The next time you find yourself craving Asian takeout food head to Panda Express and order a keto-friendly meal with ease. Consider ordering their String Bean Chicken which features grilled chicken, green beans, onion, and a mild ginger soy sauce. This meal contains about 9 grams of net carbs.

You could also order their Kung Pao Chicken which features grilled chicken, peanuts, red bell peppers, chili peppers, zucchini, and a spicy Szechwan sauce. This meal contains 12 grams of net carbs. Finally, you could also order their Broccoli Beef Bowl which contains beef, broccoli, a ginger soy sauce and contains 11 grams of net carbs.

15. Chick-fil-A

You may be surprised to discover that Chick-fil-A has many keto-friendly options especially when you opt for grilled chicken and when you skip the bun and sauces. Though it’s worth noting, if you can’t resist indulging in a dipping sauce, Buffalo sauce will be your go-to as it contains 0 grams of net carbs.

You could order the Grilled Chicken sandwich with no bun as it contains just 3 grams of net carbs. Further, you could also order Chick-fil-A’s Grilled Nuggets with no sauces as this meal contains only 2 grams of net carbs. Finally, make it a meal and order a side salad with their Avocado Ranch dressing for an additional 11 grams of net carbs.
